The e:HEV hybrid version is equipped with Honda's unique e:HEV hybrid technology, which combines the advantages of both engine technology and a purely electric drive to provide the responsiveness and acceleration of an electric car, as well as the best performance only an engine can achieve at high speeds.

The hybrid version of the STEPWGN SPADA e:HEV features Honda's unique e:HEV new generation hybrid technology, consisting of a 2.0 litre Atkinson recirculating petrol engine, twin electric motors, a new generation lithium-ion battery and an e-CVT automatic transmission. The new generation e:HEV Dynamic Hybrid technology intelligently switches between three different power modes according to the vehicle’s needs at the time, including the frequently used "Hybrid Mode" for stop-starts and and the "Engine Mode" for high-speed cruising.
